Is January not the longest month of the entire year? And January 2022 is feeling especially, um, JANUARY! But while you feel like it will never end, winter is marching right along. We are bringing you some ideas this week on warm winter fun to get you through the coldest part of the year. And of course, if outside activity is your preference we have tips on having the ultimate outdoor winter, too.
Hang in there, Champaign-Urbana parents and caregivers. We know it is hard to handle what winter throws our way, but spring is practically right around the corner and we can’t wait to share some of the things we are looking forward to when the weather warms this year!
Join us online from the comfort of your couch at home on January 24, 2022 from 8-9 p.m. as we chat with our friends at Lighthouse Autism Center regarding new play based approaches to ABA (applied behavior analysis). Lighthouse Autism Center will be opening soon in winter 2022 in Champaign. The chat will take place on the Chambanamoms Facebook page.
We will discuss items such as what is ABA therapy and what does traditional ABA therapy look like. We will discuss how the importance of play based support in a child’s naturalistic environment and the integration of speech therapy. This approach was created by a team of dually certified clinicians/experts in the fields of speech and ABA.
Two participants during the chat will win sensory boxes from The Blessed Mess: Sensory Play, a local Champaign-Urbana business providing unique play opportunities for children and their families.
