How do you navigate a Champaign-Urbana heat wave in the summer of 2020? We have some ideas for you.
Pick a stop on the ice cream trail, go tubing down a river and splish splash through your sprinkler because it’s going to be another hot weekend with your kids, Champaign-Urbana
We’re right in the middle of a mid-summer heat wave and we can’t help but think, “if only we could go to the pool!” Fortunately for us (and our kids!) we still have a number of ways we can stay cool during this summer… some just take some thinking outside the box!
If water is what you’re looking for, head over to our “Everything Outdoors” post to read about where to go creek stomping and where you can kayak/canoe/tube your way around Champaign-Urbana. We highly recommend that you book a time to go tubing down the river with our friends over at Kickapoo Adventures… the “lazy river”, in natural form, if you will.
Of course it’s not all about the water. Nice cold treats help make the heat more bearable, too! Pull up the chambanamoms Ice Cream Trail and pick a spot to visit and cool off with something delicious. How else are you keeping cool this summer? You can let us know by emailing us or connecting with us on Facebook, too.
