Let this be the summer of exploring more reading! Chambanamoms.com and Champaign Public Library joined together to bring the library to ALL.
Starting with the Virtual Family Reading Day on May 31, we have consulted the experts – the children’s librarians – so we can help families get the most out of the Champaign Public Library and Summer Reading in summer 2020.

How to Keep Babies & Toddlers Engaged with Reading
Mother Goose isn’t on the loose right now, but that doesn’t mean she can’t help us all keep our little kiddos engaged while we are at home this summer. This morning we hear how to keep our babies and toddlers interested in learning by taking the time to sing and read in these early stages. If you are tired of reading the same books that you checked out in March or want to actually see the books before you pick them up- there’s good news. The Champaign Public Library and other local libraries OPEN on Friday, June 26th.
Make sure you turn up the sound and sing along with this fun story time.
How to Never be Without a Book this Summer
📚 📚 📚 Did you know that you don’t ever have to be without a book? No matter if you are sitting in your backyard, walking your dog or driving your car- you can find a book to hold (in your hand or on a screen) or listen to from the Champaign Public Library.
☀️☀️Kathie Kading, librarian, talks about how to get books online, through curbside pick up or at the library. Kathie also shares with us how to engage your tween and teen readers. She tells us the importance of reading together as a family and some fun ideas on how to pick your next favorite book.
If you haven’t signed up for the reading program yet, you don’t want to miss it- the prizes are awesome and it’s always so much fun!
