As we continue to adjust to navigating our present situation with our kids and our communities, we have some resources for Champaign-Urbana families
Check out some of the things you CAN do while practicing social distancing and enjoying the emergence of spring, too
Now that we’re a bit into this social distancing practice, we’re getting the hang of how to walk this thing out. And as we settle into this “normal for now”, we have a number of resources put together for you to check out as you plan out your days. First up, you probably want to know where you can go grocery shopping and what hours your stores are open. Since school is closed, you’re likely also looking for educational resources to keep kids entertained and learning – we have over 300 here for you.
What about field trips? We’ve got a list of seven “Illinois-specific” trips you can take without leaving your home. You can make some time to give back this week by writing cards to senior citizens, too.
On more serious subject matters, you may have a student preparing to take AP exams with questions. How about how to talk to your children about what is happening presently? We interviewed a child life specialist at Carle on this topic. If you are looking for what schools have put together in regards to food distribution, we have that info, too. Note – many of these programs are available for all children 18 and younger (including young children who have not yet begun school).
chambanamoms thanks P&G Smart Lab for bringing us this weekend’s planner
You care about your loved ones. You want what is best for them. That is why you are careful about the products you bring into your home. The team at the P&G Smart Lab – located here in Champaign – take great care to make these products the best they can possibly be for you and your loved ones. They need your help to make sure that the products they make help improve your life and the lives of your loved ones. They are looking for people to participate in consumer research with them. You’ll have the chance to participate in surveys and other product-related research – and in exchange they’ll pay you and give you free products. If you want to share your opinions and get paid for your help – please sign up here. https://surveymvp.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4Zb2ovig0tdly3r
This Week’s Featured Activity – Go Hunting For Eggs at Champaign County Forest Preserves
Traditional Easter egg hunts may not all be happening (yet to be determined as individual communities make those calls) but no matter what, there’s one way you can start Easter egg hunting right now that perfectly fits within our limitations during the COVID-19 situation. Set out on a hunt to find the Champaign County Forest Preserve District’s 30 “eggs” (painted rocks) throughout five different locations in Champaign County!
Send us your pics via email or Facebook of your family finding the eggs and they may be shared in the coming weeks as we make this Easter Egg Hunt the one that everyone can take on amidst unusual circumstances.
