The best gift you can give your family for Valentine’s Day is some time together
While we have no doubt that many area families will spend time this weekend addressing Valentines for class parties, decorating cookies and generally just sharing love with one another, we’re here to help you find things to do together in our community to make some memories as a family.
We will highlight some of our top picks below but you’ll want to read the complete round-up of what’s happening for families around Valentine’s Day, since there’s tons happening this weekend. We also want to make sure you have the details on our indoor playdate this Sunday, an intergenerational playdate at Clark-Lindsey Village.
We’ve put together tips for grown-ups when it comes to celebrating Valentine’s Day, too! If you want even more ideas of what you can do with a grown-up night out, find our February suggestions here.
Want to get outside this weekend? You may want to know where the best sledding in Champaign-Urbana is. We also have a new post for you on ways to get moving and be active together as a family. Indoor and outdoor options are included. Have a great weekend together in this community we all love so very much!
chambanamoms thanks St. Olaf Choir at Krannert Center for bringing us this week’s Weekend Planner
University of Illinois alumnus Anton Armstrong — who was once a student member of the St. Olaf Choir, one of the nation’s outstanding a cappella choirs — took up the ensemble’s baton in 1990 and continues to lead 75 young men and women in impassioned interpretations of traditional hymns, spiritual songs, and contemporary works from across the globe. On the choir’s 100th-anniversary tour, Krannert Center audiences on Feb. 11 will once again experience the St. Olaf Choir’s warm tone and amazing technique, highlighted by the remarkable acoustics of Foellinger Great Hall.
