It’s a flurry of fall fun in Champaign-Urbana this weekend and we know your family will have a blast at any of the many FREE events happening in town this weekend.
It starts with all kinds of fun at Flannel Fest on Friday, continues with football and hayrides and hotdogs and more on Saturday, and kicks off a week of University of Illinois homecoming festivities on Sunday morning, too. How ever will you choose what it is you want to do?

Why you should go: Visit with Furry Friends Petting Zoo and their lovable animals. You’ll get to meet – and pet – Bella the blue-tongued skink, Gertrude the African gray goose, Tucker the prairie dog, Harley the Alpaca, Peaches the skunk, Blue the mini horse, Quackers the duck, and many more!
Real Life Families Fundraiser Family Fun Run
You and your family team are invited to participate in the First Annual Family Fun Run Fundraiser for Real Life Families (a 501c3 nonprofit here in Champaign County). Walk or run with your family team to show your support for family unity, for close positive relationships between parents and their kids, and to raise awareness of the need to support families on their journey. The goal is for families to be healthy in their bodies, minds, and in their relationships with each other.

Why you should go: Join the Urbana Free Library and Urbana Arts and Culture Program for the next installment of the Young Artist’s Studio. Join local artist Silvia Olayo for a workshop on the art of ballet folklórico! For ages 5 and up (or younger with an adult helper). Baile folklórico, literally "folkloric dance" in Spanish, also known as ballet folklórico, is a collective term for traditional Mexican dances that emphasize local folk culture with ballet characteristics!
