Goodbye summer, hello fall! Footballs, festivals, and so much fun to be had in Champaign-Urbana this long Labor Day weekend. To help you plan out your errands, we have a list of what is open and what is closed on Labor Day.
Many local high schools will have their first football games of the season this weekend, and don’t miss the Illini home opener on Saturday morning. Head out to Grange Grove and your kids can bounce around in orange and blue inflatables while you soak in some of the gameday excitement. Want some tips taking in Illini sporting events with your family? We have an article for you here.
We also have a pretty fantastic local parade coming up on Monday – the “candy parade!” It’s an annual Labor Day Parade and Picnic that takes off from Lincoln Square Mall and wraps up at Prairie Park. If you want to know all about our favorite fall parades coming up near C-U, check out our picks here.
Time to get going on those fall festivals this weekend, too. We’ve got the Champaign-Urbana Area Fall Festivals Guide ready for you so you can get the scoop on this weekend’s happenings, like the Hoopeston National Sweetcorn Festival and the Arthur Amish Country Cheese Festival. Then take a minute and pencil in plans for pumpkins, scarecrows and beyond for the rest of fall.
Thanks again to iEXCELL for sponsoring our Weekend Planner.
