Champaign-Urbana Family-Friendly St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations
Fun Ways to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Kids
Kids pick up on themed holidays pretty early on in life, don’t you think? By the preschool years, they pay attention to what Target has displayed as the next holiday coming up and by the time they’re in school, there are plenty of opportunities to celebrate every single one of them in some way. And for what traditionally is a “holiday” marked by green beer and shamrock tees, there happen to be family-friendly community events (many of which are FREE) when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day in Champaign-Urbana.
A few things to keep in mind. All of the events listed below are “kid-friendly” events, but may still be held in or near locations where adult beverages are being served. Also, University of Illinois students are typically on spring break while community St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are taking place, but steer clear of campus earlier in the month when Unofficial St. Patrick’s Day is happening.
