This weekend is a packed one for Illinois Gymnastics. On Saturday, February 24 at 3:00 p.m., the men’s gymnastics team will honor their seniors at Hail to the Orange Day. On Sunday, February 25th at 4:00 p.m., the women’s gymnastics team will host their princesses and superheroes night and free youth clinic for kids 8th grade and younger following the meet. What: 35th Annual Insect Fear Film Festival Featuring Ticks
Where: Foellinger Auditorium, Urbana
When: Saturday, Feb. 24; doors open at 6:00 p.m., films start at 7:30 p.m.
How much: FREE
Appropriate for: Lobby activities serve a variety of ages; movies for an older crowd
Why you should go: Great activities for kids before the main event gets started, including face painting, the insect petting zoo. Only the early part of the evening is recommended for young children. Snapchat fans take note: Entomologists will take over the UIUC Snapchat channel for the festival, with a filter allowing people to take a selfie with a giant tick.
What: Chesser Financial Presents Preparing for the Unexpected
Where: Stephens Family YMCA
When: Sunday Feb. 26, 3:00 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.
How much: FREE. Snacks will be available for adults, and a $50 Baxter’s gift card will be given to one lucky attendee!
Appropriate for: Free childcare will be provided by YMCA Staff for children 6 weeks of age and up. Infants are welcome to stay with their parents.
