Great news for grown-ups! ‘Adults Only’ swim nights are a thing and they have come to Champaign-Urbana.
And here’s the kicker. CHILDCARE IS PROVIDED.
If you’re like us and would like to relax at the pool without worrying about where your children are or, ahem, “water clarity issues”, then you’ll definitely want to mark your calendars for these days.
Sholem Aquatic Center is offering an Adult Swim Night on July 30 from 8-10 p.m. Regular admission prices apply- $6 for residents or $9 for non-residents. (Truth be told, I’d probably pay double to float around that lazy river under the stars sans children.)
The Oasis concession stand will be open but coolers are allowed at Sholem. Just make sure to leave the alcohol at home. Don’t forget to bring your ID!
Sholem Aquatic Center

Childcare: Leonhard Recreation Center, located right next to the pool, will provide childcare for kids, ages four and up (must be potty-trained). Stop by Sholem to get wristbands for your children, drop them off at the rec center, and then enjoy your alone time.
Kids ages 3-12 years old are invited to attend a late-night play date from 8-10:30 p.m. at the Anita Purves Nature Center. The cost is $3 per child. Call 217-367-1544 to register.
