And when we think about sending our kids back to school, we think about our friends and neighbors who are working so hard to educate our children. And what we can do to ensure they have what they need — when they need it — to be the best teachers they can be.
That’s why we here at Chambanamoms.com have teamed up with Champaign Chrysler to name one teacher per month a “Chambana Teacher to Know.” And that’s not all – each teacher who wins will receive a $100 cash prize.
Let me say that again: the monthly honoree will receive a $100 cash prize.
Dale Hendershot, general manager of Champaign Chrysler (located on Moreland Boulevard, in the area between North Prospect and the mall) is very familiar with teachers: his wife has taught sixth graders in the Paxton-Buckley-Loda district for 16 years.
“I understand it’s a tough job,” Hendershot said.
But when he sees former students — as long as 15 years ago — tell his wife how much they appreciated her efforts, he knows it’s worth the hard work.
Which is one reason why Hendershot is excited that Champaign Chrysler will be honoring teachers from all over the area. To nominate a teacher for this honor, please fill out this short form. Once a month, a local K-12 teacher will be selected as the Champaign Chrysler Chambana Teacher to Know; he or she will be profiled on chambanamoms.com too.
Champaign Chrysler recently celebrated a year in business (the dealership was formerly known as Shelby Motors). Hendershot, who has been in the car business for 20 years, said his favorite part of his job is interaction with the customers and building relationships with them.
So if you haven’t been there for awhile and stop in, you’ll notice the place has been completely renovated. Check out the dealership’s top selling car for families is the Chrysler Town & Country minivan; another popular vehicle for families is the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the No. 1 selling SUV in the lot.
Thank you to Champaign Chrysler for helping us honor our local teachers. Nominate one today!
