Champaign Public Library
Celebrate a new exhibition in the library’s “The Art Connection: Schools to Library” series with kids, teens, and art teachers from three Champaign schools: Centennial High School (Stacey Gross), Jefferson Middle School (Scott Fernsberg), and Carrie Busey Elementary School (John Odum). The exhibition is on display in two areas. Be sure to visit both the children’s area on the first floor and the FriendShop Bookstore (elevator to lower level). On display through December. Next exhibition in series opens in January 2018. Presented in partnership with the Champaign Unit 4 School District. The district’s K-12 visual arts coordinator and Centennial High art teacher, Stacey Gross, provided guidance and coordination with each school. Made possible with support from the Library Friends.
Don’t miss the rest of the day’s art-related activities, including a free collage workshop for kids and a visit from this year’s Caldecott winner, author and artist Javaka Steptoe:
