Thanks to Christie Clinic for sponsoring our Flu Shot guide. Christie Clinic is providing walk-in flu clinics at Christie Clinic on Windsor in Champaign and its satellite clinics in Danville on Vermilion, Mahomet, Rantoul and Tuscola. See below for details.
And remember: Those most vulnerable to the flu are the very young, the elderly, pregnant women and those with compromised immune systems.
In Champaign-Urbana, you can get a flu shot as early as this month at clinics, although some of the pharmacies are already offering it (but many don’t have it for children). We have listed walk-in clinics below that serve all ages. Flu shots are available for anyone six months or older.
If you prefer to opt for a nasal flu vaccine over a needle for your children, you will need to make other plans. See why area children won’t be given nasal FluMist vaccines.

Carle community flu clinics run through early December this year at various locations in East Central Illinois. A flu shot is $40. A high dose is $60.
Carle is once again offering a drive-thru at Urbana’s Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church from Sept. 20-22 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sept. 23 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. This option will not require the person being vaccinated to even get out of the car; however, anyone receiving the vaccine for the first time is recommended to be vaccinated inside the building.
No appointment is necessary at the community flu clinics. Carle Physician Group patients may choose direct billing and must bring their clinic number and insurance card to do so. Medicare patients must bring their Medicare cards for direct billing. Non-Medicare or non-Carle Physician Group patients should be prepared to pay at the time of service. No nasal FluMist.
The Centers for Disease Control recommend flu vaccines for persons age 6 months and older. Please note some Carle locations specify age requirements.
