Explore the rich cultural heritage of the African American community in Champaign County on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Activities will include a choose your own adventure game, story time for the younger audience, civil rights discussion and craft, and analyzing documents from the museum’s Hoskins Archive.
May the force be with you as everyone enjoys an evening of dancing, laughs and play. Join the Champaign Park District for an evening of fun activities, including plated-dinner service. Registration is required.
If you child excited about math? No? Well the University of Illinois math department would like the opportunity to challenge that. Local mathemats students will provide demonstrations of magic tricks, visual paradoxes and more, including hands-on activities for members of the public of all ages, including many puzzles and activities particularly designed for kindergarten, elementary school, and middle school students.
Teams from Centennial, Central and Jefferson will be among the 400 elementary, middle and high school archers from all over the state who’ll compete for individual and team awards at Champaign’s Leonhard Recreation Center. There is a nominal admission fee; kids are free.
