Our son (age 7), who attended more classes than our daughter (age 9) due to schedule availability, brings home a number of very interesting art objects that he creates with the help of the amazing instructors. These are not only functional but very attractive indeed. While there he was introduced to sewing, which he kept doing all by himself at home, knitting; in addition to painting, drawing, and more. Yoga and arts help keep him focused on doing something that he truly enjoys. I recommend enrolling your child in the Yoga and Arts for kids at Amara.

A new local summer enrichment day camp offering hands-on STEM activities for kids grades 3-8. Driven by Ctrl-Z, a local high school robotics team in CU. Our team has taken all its experience from outreach events over the last five years and applied it to one fun-filled and stimulating program for kids.
Dates: Session 1: July 11-15 & July 18-22; Session 2: July 25-29 & August 1-5. The camp runs from 8 AM to 4 PM.
Week 1 of each session is about learning foundational skills and robotics concepts with hands-on projects. Week 2 builds on that with more advanced concepts and fun activities. The two weeks are designed together, but kids may enroll in only one week if they wish.
Parent Comment: In the last five years I’ve watched the 40 local high school students on Ctrl-Z run countless outreach events, demos and clinics for younger kids all over Champaign county. I’ve watched them tirelessly design and build several 120 pound robots and compete across the Midwest. Now they have expanding their outreach goals, and have designed an exciting, educational day camp curriculum for kids unlike any other in CU.
