Tate Trees

At locally owned and operated Tate Trees, we remember the days when picking a Christmas tree was an experience anticipated and shared by the whole family instead of a quick trip to the local big box store. We have been providing that experience for more than 40 years. We are now on our fourth generation of tree sellers and would love to help you pick the perfect tree from the best selection available in Champaign County. So load up the family for short drive into the country and let Tate Trees help make a memory that will last long after the holiday season has ended.

Hours:  Open at 8 am the day after Thanksgiving and are open 8am-8pm daily until sell out. Its website and Facebook page have tons of great information and photos.

Location:   2659 County Road 900 East, Champaign. Located 10 miles north of Champaign on Mattis Ave.

B.E. Farms

B.E. Farms has over 10 varieties of trees planted, and sizes ranging from 1 foot to over 12 feet, all of which are pesticide and herbicide free. They make wreaths, garland, door swags, and grave blankets/pillows on site by hand using their own trees, and take custom orders.  They also offer a tree recycling service, bring your tree back to BE Farms and they will give you $5 off your next tree.  Tree drilling, shaking, and netting are offered free of charge.

With its wide variety of trees, and other services, B.E. Farms offers more than most other tree farms. And of course, the complimentary hot chocolate and coffee while you shop.  When looking for a tree don’t concentrate on a specific variety of tree. “So often we get calls asking for a very specific species. Usually we have what they are looking for, but when people come out and look quite often they end up loving a tree that weren’t even looking for. So why limit yourself? That being said, if you have people with allergies, white pine tends to be the least fragrant and most forgiving to those with sensitivities.

Hours:  Open starting Sat., Nov 22, 2014 9:00am. Hours 12pm-5pm Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm Saturday-Sunday. Closed for the season on Tue, Dec 23, 2014 at 5:00pm.  For more information check out our website or Facebook Page.

  1. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme oof
this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A llot of times it’s very hard to get that
“perfect balance” between usabillity and visual appeal.

I must say you have done a excellent job with this.
Additionally, the blog loads very quick for me on Firefox.
    Exceptional Blog!
