It’s like clockwork each New Year – the urge to get fit and recommit to our wellness goals.
If you’re looking for ways to dip your pecs into the fitness frenzy without making a long-term, expensive commitment, there are many ways to do that. Some start next week; others are available anytime. Here’s what we’ve found:
Urbana Park District Free Fitness Week Jan. 7-11
Where: Phillips Recreation Center, Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center or Brookens Gym, depending on class
What: Try out any exercise class at the Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center, Phillips Recreation Center or Brookens Gym absolutely free from Jan. 7-11.
Savoy Recreation Center Free Week, Jan. 2-9
Where: 402 W. Graham Dr., Savoy
What: During free week you can use the group fitness classes, the gym, walking track, cardio and weight rooms!
The Fitness Center
Where: Champaign, Monticello and Tuscola locations
What: Get a 7-day trial pass for use anytime.
Where: Champaign and Urbana locations (formerly known as Cardinal Fitness)
What: Print out a coupon for a free 5-day trial membership. Must present the coupon to redeem the offer.
Where: Champaign, Urbana, Mahomet, Monticello, Tuscola
What: Fill out a form to start the process to receive a free 7-day guest membership pass. Call ahead to the location you want to attend and make sure they participate in this promotion.
What: Get a free class/intro session by filling out this online form. You can pick a specific class time.
