The United Way of Champaign County is gearing up for its annual Stuff The Bus initiative and we’re asking for your help in getting much-needed items to the people in our community who need them.
Stuff The Bus collects new and unopened items that are distributed either directly via the United Way or in conjunction with that organization’s partner agencies. This year, Stuff The Bus items fall into four categories: Education, health and well-being, financial stability and community basics.
We are proud this year to be a sponsor of this terrific program, and we have committed to donating a significant amount of particular item. We are asking YOU to help us collect as many boxes of crayons as possible for the kids in Champaign-Urbana who need them!
You can help in three ways:
- First, bring a box or two of unopened crayons to our booth at the Market At The Square this Saturday, Aug. 18, any time between 7:30 a.m. and noon. For each box of crayons donated, we will match one box.
- Then, on Wednesday, Aug. 29, you can bring new and unopened boxes of crayons to a collection point, to be announced early next week. We’ll be there to accept your donations and thank you in person!
- Last, you can donate needed items at various times and locations around Champaign-Urbana (you can find that information here) on Aug. 29.
