First-year Illini football coach Tim Beckman has been doing his best to win over fans of the orange and blue since he was hired in December. After months of build up, the Illini will be taking the field in a month; fans will have their first chance to check out Beckman’s 2012 Illini squad when Camp Rantoul opens Aug. 6 (today!). The Illini will
hold eight practices there from Aug. 6-12; all practices held at Camp Rantoul will be open to the public (practices at Memorial Stadium will be closed). The complete schedule of practices is available online. Beckman and his wife, Kim, have three children: Tyler (20), Lindsay (18), and Alex (14). Tyler is a sophomore quarterback at the University of Findlay, Lindsay is a freshman at Toledo while Alex is at Urbana High School.
