Where’s Waldo?

We’ve been asking ourselves that question for 25 years. To celebrate this milestone anniversary of the red-and-white striped sweater-wearing literary lurker, Jane Addams Book Shop in downtown Champaign is sponsoring a contest to find as many Waldos as possible between July 1st and 31st.

So, seriously, WHERE’S Waldo?

A special Waldo figure will be hidden in each the following stores, all of which are in the downtown Champaign area, during the month of July:

  • Copasetic Consignments
  • Aroma Cafe
  • indi go Artist Co-op
  • Christopher’s Fine Jewelry Design
  • Champaign Surplus
  • The News-Gazette
  • Furniture Lounge
  • Kessler Optical
  • G-Mart Comics
  • CV Lloyde
  • Austin’s Sportswear
  • Carrie’s
  • Exile on Main Street
  • Merry Ann’s Diner
  • The Art Theater
  • Orpheum Children’s Science Museum
  • Dandelion Vintage and Used Clothing Store
  • Skins N Tins
  • Ten Thousand Villages
  • Jane Addams Book Shop

Visit Jane Addams Book Shop if you’d like a special check-off sheet of the stores and their locations.

When your crew spots a Waldo in a store, let the clerk know and you will receive a card confirming your sighting. Collect these cards and turn them in ASAP — the first 100 spotters to turn in 8 slips to Jane Addams will receive a special Waldo button.

When you collect 16 cards, turn those in for a button AND to be entered into a drawing for a 6-book set of the Where’s Waldo? series and a lot of other great prizes.

And, plan to attend the Waldo Grand Celebration and prize drawing on July 31 at 6 p.m.!
