Help The Perfect Prom Project Make Dreams Come True

There’s nothing quite like prom night, and a big part of that excitement and anticipation for the young women who attend is choosing a beautiful gown.

The Perfect Prom Project, a registered student orgainzation at the University of Illinois, works hard to make sure every girl who wants to go to prom has the chance to wear a dress that makes her feel gorgeous. The group offers free gowns and accessories to high school students in and around Central Illinois who need them.

This year’s Perfect Prom Project event is slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, at the University YMCA, 1001 S. Wright St., Champaign.

Over the past six years, this volunteer group has given away a whopping 650 free dresses. To continue doing so, Perfect Prom Project needs donations and volunteers.

If you’d like to make a monetary donation you can do so online via PayPal. Donations in the form of dresses, accessories and gift certificates to local restaurants and salons (for that special dinner and hair and makeup) are also accepted. The group also has an online wishlist of goods and services.

Girls who are in need of a dress can find one at the 7th Annual Boutique Day. All they need is a high-school ID.
