The mega-consignment sale One Week Boutique has announced its spring sale will be held on April 9-12 at the former Best Buy building on Anthony Drive in Champaign.

A twice-yearly event, One Week Boutique features gently-used maternity and children’s clothing, books, videos toys, baby gear and more. Last fall’s sale was delayed after owner Donna Pepper ran into difficulties securing a location, and a smaller, scaled-down event was held in November at a Mahomet locale. But Pepper was determined to move it back to Champaign-Urbana for the spring, and the sale will return to a location where it had previously thrived.

One change for the upcoming sale that consignors will want to take note of: OWB will now pay consignors 65 percent instead of the 70 percent it has paid out since its inception. However, consignors who also volunteer will receive the 70 percent premium. This change was instituted after Pepper noticed a decline in the general number of volunteers, and paying staff put a strain on the budget.

“We love doing this sale in order to see the families get a little extra spending money out of the items they no longer need,” Pepper told chambanamoms.com via email. “I think most would agree that OWB is still the best bang for your buck in the Champaign-Urbana consignment community.”

OWB started in March of 2004; this will be the 13th OWB sale in Champaign.

I LOVE ONE WEEK BOUTIQUE because I get great stuff and I sell old stuff I don’t need. What better way to recycle and reuse!!!!

  2. Jessica says:

I LOVE the OWB! Not only do I consign and make lots of money and clean out the kids closets, but I can shop the sale and outfit both of my kids for around $100. The half-price day is a must! There’s always so much to choose from – never picked over.

This is such a great event! You can sell your items, shop for great deals and even get involved by volunteering which allows you to shop before the public sale days. It’s a fun environment, with wonderful bargains and nice source of extra income!

I almost want to fly up just to come! I love events like this!!

I’m so with Bridget. I miss the OWB. Just had one in AZ and so not worth it. All I could think about is I would love to go back to CU.
