We might be in Nashville this weekend (at an amazing conference we’ll tell you all about later), but we won’t leave you high and dry without any suggestions for what to do in C-U. This weekend looks to be a very festive one – it’s a big party whenever national TV comes to town. In this issue: ESPN Gameday live television event at Assembly Hall; making Valentine’s Day cards for seniors; and Chinese New Year celebration.
What: ESPN Gameday Live
Where: Assembly Hall, Champaign
When: Doors open at 8 a.m.; Show starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6
How Much: Free
Appropriate For: All ages
Why You Should Go: Don some orange, make a clever (but clean) sign, and get your Illini spirit on as Champaign-Urbana hits the spotlight on ESPN. State Farm will donate $1 to the Orange Krush Foundation, the Illini student-run charity, for each person attending. Maybe you’ll be on TV – don’t forget to set the DVR!
What: Make Valentine’s Day Cards for Seniors
Where: Prairie Gardens, Champaign
When: All day Saturday and Sunday (open hours)

Why You Should Go: Kids can get crafty and do a good deed at the same time at Prairie Gardens this weekend. All Valentine’s Day cards will be delivered to local nursing homes.
What: Chinese New Year Celebration
