Have yourself a Cupcake Christmas!
By Laura Weisskopf Bleill
Bring out your sugar plum fairies to a very special free event tonight in downtown Champaign, where the focus is on families.
To celebrate the season, Cakes on Walnut, the downtown cupcake confectioner has brought together several local businesses for Sugar and Spice: A Cupcake Christmas Party. Head over to the indi go gallery* in downtown Champaign from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening and enjoy:
- Gingerbread cupcake and sugar cookie decorating with Cakes on Walnut;
- Children’s improv, Christmas carols, and frosty face painting by Class Act Interactive;
- Irish dancing and music performances by children from Next Generation School;
-Hot chocolate, cider, and eggnog courtesy of Boltini Lounge;
- View the 2010 Cupcake Girl Photography Collection and other cupcake art;
- and meet yours truly — Amy and Laura from chambanamoms.com. And, we’ll be giving away two great gift certificates — from Spa Envy and Bella Bambini – to some lucky guests!
We hope to see many of you out and about on Friday night! We would love to meet you and hear your feedback about our site. Thank you to Cakes on Walnut for including us in this wonderful event.
*The indi go gallery is located in the former site of Furniture Lounge, 9 E. University Ave.
