Thankful Thursday

One of our lovely readers (you know who you are) suggested that in addition to our regular feature, Sound Off Monday!, we feature a post every week where we share what we’re thankful for:

Why not a Thankful Thursday where we can post thoughts of gratitude? Acknowledge random acts of kindness from a stranger or appreciation for the little joys in life, like waterproof mascara and resealable cookie packaging?

We couldn’t agree more. So let’s kick off our inaugural Thankful Thursday post, shall we? Laura is thankful for the people of this community who are so generous of their time. Like the man who came to her house today and probably saved her $7,000.

Amy is thankful for the stranger who put a quarter in her parking meter this week, preventing her from getting yet another parking ticket from the city of Urbana.

What are you thankful for today? A warm scarf? Cream in your coffee? The twinkle in your child’s eye? Tell us, we want to know.

  1. I’m thankful for my dad, who is building me a 2d floor laundry room. He has been here 2 weeks providing free labor on the project working from sunup to sundown. He has painted the governor’s mansion in Indianpolis prior to an Al Gore visit and the home the the maistro for the Indianpolis symphony, so it’s wonderful to have his talent being applied to my home.

I am thankful for ways to save $. The December Super Savings Book should be on everyone’s doorknob today. Check it out!

  3. Jennifer says:

I am thankful that I can afford gifts for my extended family and that I can save my sanity by ordering most of them online.

  4. Kristie Gottlieb says:

I am thankful for my crazy, never-boring, kids-out-the-wazoo (7 of ‘em!)life that I live. And for the animals that make me laugh–including the dog, cat, bird, 5 goats, and the pig. And for my hubby who tolerates it all so cheerfully! And last but not least–for chocolate and coffee.
